Dick Wynn, father of Jessica Wynn. Jessica was the Florida 4A Player of the Year, Broward County Player of the Year, Prepvolleyball.com All American, MVP of State Champion Cardinal Gibbons. University of Pittsburgh.

Jessica’s decision to switch clubs and join Tribe was the best move she could have made and the springboard to an amazing high school career. Dean and Albert saw her potential as an outside hitter and gave her the support and confidence to reach her highest level. The credit belongs to Tribe thanks to their the top level coaching, great training and positive atmosphere in which the girls thrive. Tribe didn’t care which high school she attended or which club she played for the year before. They allow open competition for positions and base selections on skill. Their methods obviously work because Jessica’s Tribe teams were her most successful club teams as both teams qualified for Junior Nationals with a top five finish her 17’s season. To enjoy great team success and maximum personal growth is the ideal club situation and exactly the situation Jessica enjoyed at Tribe. Thanks to her Tribe experience she is very well prepared for her college career as an outside hitter.

Dean and Albert take their mission to heart and are tireless in their efforts. They are great guys and we are very happy with Jessica’s time spent with Tribe. We give Tribe our gratitude and highest recommendation.

Tribe Family,

Having both our girls in the Tribe family this year was a great experience for them as players and us as parents.  Tribe does have a “family” feeling not only within the individual teams but also as a club as a whole.  One thing we really liked at Tribe as compared to other clubs is that the officers of Tribe are very approachable and respond to calls and emails in a timely manner and with consideration to the player, family and team.  They go out of their way to get to know you and your child and truly care about your experience – whether your child is a superstar or not. Tribe also encourages team bonding more than most clubs and that helps on the court and off as well.  The coaches are trained well and it was obvious that the coaches we had liked belonging to the club and were proud to represent Tribe.  That spirit, of course, trickles down to the players and makes it fun for the girls as well.

Considering Tribe hasn’t been around a long time - it is run more efficiently and with better communication then clubs that have been around for much longer.  The officers are quick to change things when they aren’t working and if a mistake is made they rectify it.  It makes everyone proud to belong to a club with stand up people running the show.

I would recommend Tribe to others and you may give my number to anyone who would like to speak to us about our positive experience.

Warm Regards,

Karen and Dave Peterson

Our daughter, Emily McMurtrey, achieved her goal of playing Division I volleyball this year, earning a scholarship to UNCG. We feel it was due to her hard work, dedication, and also the encouragement and opportunities provided to her through Tribe volleyball club.  Competing as setter throughout her club career, she really excelled during the last two years of training after she joined Tribe. We were one of the first families to commit to Tribe. We watched Emily grow in confidence, ability, and leadership during those years with Tribe.  Dean, Albert, and Marci encouraged Emily to perform at the top of her game. Tribe's specialty and team coaches equipped her with strategy and skill, and PC challenged her physically to be strong and stay healthy through conditioning.  During the years Emily was part of the Tribe family her team qualified for Nationals both years, she was chosen as a member of the All Tournament Nationals Team in 2010. We appreciate Tribe’s integrity and the commitment to excellence.  We have and will continue to recommend Tribe without reservation to family,  friends, and acquaintances who are looking for the South Florida volleyball club where their child can achieve their potential and experience an atmosphere of competition between teams with cooperation and encouragement among teammates.

I just wanted to let you know how happy the Pumo family is with Tribe. We came from a club that we were with for 4 years and there is absolutely no comparison in the training, coaching, team bonding, leadership and positive feedback for both of my daughters as there was
with Tribe this past season. My oldest daughter, who has played club volleyball for the past 5 years was given the opportunity to play a position that she had only played for one season in high school. The support and coaching that she received was astonishing. It wasn't only her coach that supported her but the whole Tribe "family." She is much more skilled in confident in
her position. This is the third year that my youngest daughter has played club
volleyball. Sebastian did a great job working with this group of 13 year old girls, not an easy age! The coaching, self confidence boosting, team building, skill training and personal growth (teamwork) was what she needed.
It was a huge commitment (driving from Miami 4 times a week) for our family to make, but it was such a positive and beneficial experience for my girls that is was worth it.
Thanks

Just wanted to drop you a note in appreciation of a great year of volleyball. Libby really enjoyed her training at Tribe, as she developed into a more consistant and stronger player. Our coach, Ilysa, was talented in teaching the team how to work together and developed each player individually. As a parent, I felt very secure in knowing that you and Albert were also very active in preparing our team for the season. This was evident in the times you or Albert coached the players on the rare occasion that Ilysa was unable to come to practice, to the times when you guys were courtside to cheer the team on during tournaments. Whatever the circumstance our team always felt your investment in us. Libby will be back at Tribe after we return from vacation for your summer clinics and hopefully to return next year to play again for Tribe.

Thanks again and see you soon,

Frannie Vilmar

The Klein's Testimonial:

This was our first year with Tribe. We met Dean Barboza and Albert Sturgeon at the 2010 July Clinics and were so very impressed with the coaching and the ratio of girls to coaches that we made the commitment to play for Tribe, even with the longer commute to practices. Tribe coaches and directors were very welcoming and made us feel like part of the family. We especially liked how proactive Dean and Albert are in helping the girl's get recruited for college. I have even referred players from our competitor, Miami Elite, to Tribe's site for the College Bound information. My 15s daughter played for Dean and was encouraged to send out emails and video to college coaches at the beginning of our season and we were overwhelmed by the response we received for our Freshman daughter. We even have heard from schools we would never have considered. My 13s daughter played for Sebastian Pedraza and always had at least 2 coaches on the court for most practices and Sebastian truly wants to help each girl reach their potential. You can tell that he cares about the girls when he puts in extra time outside of the practice times to help work with them. Although Altone Williams is not one of my daughters coaches, he always seems to be around helping and encouraging the girls, both at practices and tournaments. He is so very enthusiastic, it is contagious and my daughter has told me that even when she is having a bad day, he is incredibly uplifting and positive and she can't help but smile.

For my 15s daughter, our first year with Tribe has earned her team a spot in the Junior National Championships American Division for which they are seeded 3rd! Our coaches, Dean and Marci Barboza, have pushed the girls to play Open or play up and although it took a while for them to actually win a tournament, they have played great competition around the country and know what they need to do to be a champion. Playing at this level has also exposed them to more college coaches. I feel their most exciting win was not a tournament, but beating the #1 seeded team, Skyline, at Colorado Crossroads in Denver in Open. They were the underdogs, but it shows them what they are capable of when playing to their potential.

We will continue to play for Tribe and trust in their coaching abilities to best serve my daughters in their volleyball futures. And just as we have done during this season, I would encourage others to give Tribe a try. The July Clinics is a great way to experience the coaching Tribe has to offer and we found it to be better than any camps we have tried.
Thank you Tribe!
Marie Klein

Dear Dean:

Thank you for another wonderful season of club volleyball. I couldn’t be happier with our switch to Tribe 2 years ago. My daughter, Gabby, has grown tremendously on the court and I directly attribute that to the attention that she has received as a member of your club. Gabby has worked with Coach Amanda, Coach Cheri and Coach Michelle as well as you and Albert. Each of you has made a contribution to her play and this season she really excelled.

Gabby is working hard to compete for a position on a college team and has received some great attention from college coaches during this season. As we have worked on the recruiting process you and her coach were responsive to our requests for assistance and guidance. This definitely benefited Gabby. I’ve talked with other parents and most are not receiving that support from their club. Tribe stands out for its commitment to the players both in training and in guidance through the college recruitment process.

We have one more year before Gabby goes to college. She will definitely be playing volleyball for Tribe. It’s a great family atmosphere that has welcomed Gabby and us, her parents. She has worked hard, she has been trained hard and through it all we have been made to feel a part.

All the best!

I am a mother of two Volleyball players. This was our first season with Tribe and our experience was great. Our girls had played for two other clubs in the past, and from the first day of meeting Dean and Albert at our youngest daughter’s tryout, I knew this was the club for us. I was so impressed with how organized, professional, kind and caring they were. Both of our girls have advanced in their skill level with the knowledgeable coaching staff at Tribe. Tribe is the kind of Volleyball Club that we were looking for and highly recommend the club.

As you know, we are almost finished with our second season with Tribe and we want to give you a heartfelt thank you for an exceptional experience on both a team level and club level.

You and Marci did an outstanding job coaching the girls.  You took a relatively new team (only 3 returning players from last season) and qualified for Junior National Championships.  Wow!

We are also very happy with our choice of the club as a whole, for several reasons.  The administration is very open, approachable and quick to respond to any concern.  All information and news is quickly posted on the website.  The girls on our team are very supportive of one another and all the Tribe girls are encouraged to support other teams as well.  Most importantly, Mary has grown in terms of her skill level and confidence.  It is a group effort. To quote her, “All the coaches make it personal.  They all know me by name and know what I need to work on.  I can ask any of them for help”.

In short, we always get the feeling that we are with a winning organization.  We will be back next year!

Best regards,
